I thought that I’ll just stop writting and get back to my work >> thesis..LOL.

But, instead, I stumble upon my own blog after writting, and opened http://katakugini.wordpress.com/2008/03/12/omotesando-tokyos-architecture-street/ .

Suddenly I remembered that one of the building in Omotesando, Tokyo, was designed by the 2010 winning Pritzker Prize Laureates “SANAA”. This DIOR building was photo shoot at june the 2nd 2009, at my second night in Tokyo.

SANAA consists of two architects 1.Kazuyo Sejima and 2. Ryue Nishizawa.

おめでとう for SANAA! Congratulations!

#FlashbackDiary – Namba Parks “Public Shows”

A 9 floor parks, with shopping malls in between. A park for middle to upper class, with variety of commercial attractions. A place I did for survey, and a place I spent most of the time sitting, on roof top, or watching what the Japanese do. So marvelous. Especially at night. Splendid Namba Parks! During spring, they have special flowers in mostly each of the floors and plant nicely and beautifully. Yet, because I do love flower, those things was so pleasant and so relaxing.

First part will be about “Public Shows” at namba parks. For this I found it coincidentally happening! (photos dated: 28th of June 2009, around 1pm-2pm).

#FlashbackDiary – Japan Neverending Memory

I never thought my journey in Japan will give me a neverending memory. with my five senses I could truely feel how I miss Japan, already. Though it’s been nearly more than half-years, I’m back to my home country. I miss everything, mostly my travelling journey, my classmates, the foods, nearly everything.

I have a new habit for what I do when I am missing Japan badly. Is to open my albums, and scroll down my photos and see for inspirations and motivations. All I had there was much fun and happiness, and no hectic life like here. But, it might not felt like that if I were a Japanese myself, I guess.

So, here is my plan for my blog (which I left empty for months). I want to make a little contemplation, on my reminiscences. And hope it works. I will put a hashtag #FlashbackDiary on every blog I made for my past in Japan. Hoping that this thing will keep me update on my Blog, keep my mind working to write something, and keep sharing to my readers (though I don’t know if people still wanna read my Blog with no interesting articles lately)..

So, in this #FlashbackDiary i will try to also upload some photos 1 or 2 in every hashtag, to let everyone use their imagination, to feel what it was like to be in Japan.

Blogging,addiction,critical mind Vs Design

I realised, that only by writing something into my blog yesterday, for which I have not written a single blog since I came back from Japan, made my mind changed a little. In what sort of way, that I have to be aware now, whether it’s going into a positive or a negative way. And it’s called an ADDICTION!

I am not yet addictive enough to be called addicted, but I am seeing the symptoms. even now I made myself to turn my head to google.com, and search for blogging addiction threads and articles, and surprisingly there were many of them. Talking about blog addiction and even quizzes about blog addiction.

This is one of the example from daily blog tips , I didn’t try it since, they asked you to sign up later on. But, actually I’ve done the question, and realise that I’m probably an average. Also look at this blog here, a writing made by a psychologist, and that the questions arouse was possibly about your addiction to blog.

But, if you are careful enough, blog could grab you to produce a critical brain. With what you think and what you have in mind, would be considered as critical. Believe it or not your mind won’t stop working, not even when you sleep And when you are critical enough, you might think of something that other people don’t get to think of, and it is purely genuinely your idea. It pops out from your head, and it evolves.

As this is mostly on my opinion, but I am seeing my phenomena today, just then, why i chose to sit and write anything I wanted to write, it’s because I need to speak my mind out Once I thought that blog keeps me critical, brought me here and spent another half an hour in front of my monitor, blogging about how critical mind is made through blogging and how addictive it is. Well, now I’m turning back…

Others might think that what I have in mind is somehow unrelated to design, Right?
No, you’re half wrong. After reading all “blablablabla” of Blogs addiciton, critical mind. Did you come over to think of Design itself as a whole? Think about these questions:

1. Where did your design Ideas come from?
2. When you wanna design, and you start sketching something on your scrapbook, what makes you draw what you wanted to draw?
3. When you find for inspirations, in any type of media, have you ever feel that your mind is filled with “joy” of ideas?

So where, did everything comes from?
The answer is >> YOUR MIND, YOUR CRITICAL MIND.
And today, this second this moment, I just wanted to tell everybody, that blogging is one of the “cheapest” way to get your mind to be as critical as it could be.

This is not a new website, this is just a late notification for my blog reader

Now, I have a blog for my photos (specially made), I found this website quite interesting for uploading photos. For you who likes to play with layouts and colors, this place suits you; as it suits me well (I’m not promoting).

The website is: http://fotologue.jp , basically the user interface is in Japanese, BUT! Sure you can adjust it in English, as what I did when I register. Though once you have your account, you can only upload up to a certain amount of MB (Mega Bytes) per month, but trust me, you don’t have to pay extra or in another words, they won’t charge you if you pass the limit of photos (frames) since there seems to be NO LIMITATION on the number of frames could be uploaded.

It’s in Flash type of website, that’s why it might look elegant. What’s good about this site is that you get to see other photos also, from other people, you can exchange knowledge, and see, as well as comparing the evolution of photography.

Started my research on Open Space :)

Since I was in Osaka, Japan. I decided to do a little research on public open space. An open space, owned by either private nor public but the main target is for the use of the public. One must remember that, even though they might be the same in shape and form; for example parks or waterfronts or plaza or even square. Those forms might have different aim and concepts. An approach used in different designs, brought different atmospheres and different environment. How those space cope with surroundings, becomes the most important key for the role of the open space. One day, i made a conclusion, that open space is actually an exact form of social catalyst. Then, I found out that famous lansdcape architecture is defining the same thing. So, I took the word catalyst, so deep in meaning. And since then on, my point of view for open space became wider.

We might not realise directly how those places I mentioned became usefull in life. But, I must say, if you have to imagine, taking away one of an open public spaces in your area where you live, and there with you remains only the residential, or trade and commercial. How would you feel?
There, you could see how such open spaces could give a big influence in your social life. Where social activities takes place, where the city breaths, where there will be an interconnection of accesibility. Crawling into a deeper state of quantity and quality of urban life and how it affects the life of the city itself.

Anyone interested in open space design, or is an expert of landspace arechitecture. From various design backgrounds, researchers and all. Please welcome to share. Through this blogpost, i will make a tag of Open Space. And If I have new information later on open space. I will tag them under open space for an ease of search.

I was there!

yokohama..If I have to think now, I might say that It was one of my dream to be there..

I stayed there for about an hour,,to capture this night shot of yokohama.
being honest, it was the most empty town I’ve visited so far in Japan probably it wasn’t the right timing, but it was wonderful and It was an unforgetable moment to be there. It was scary at the first time, because I went there only with my braveness. It is a place out of my sight, and I was a total foreigner. Only stepping in paths by feelings. And goodness it was soooooo magnificent. Just an expression which I will never be able too describe, and it is really worth to see. You’ll be dying coz amazement. Enjoy my photos! I hope everyone could enjoy as much as I did during my time in Yokohama. One word is never enough to describe. Wonderful! God is the All Mighty!

Well..

I miss this blog very much,
Beside, I have been writting too much in the other one, and then sort of forgot about this one..

But, anyways,
You can keep up with me on these two blogs. I like wordpress coz it looks totally formal and tidy. But on the other hand, I like blogspot for daily chats and talks, just fussing around upon daily contemplation.
